Hamilton’s home-base plumbing company. Plumbway Ltd is based right here in Hamilton — faster response times, expert local knowledge, and 24/7 emergency cover across all suburbs.
Because Plumbway is based in Hamilton, we offer the fastest response times in the city. Whether you’re calling from Rototuna, Flagstaff, Chartwell, Hillcrest, Frankton, Hamilton East, Claudelands, Silverdale, Te Rapa, Fairfield, Dinsdale, Nawton, Melville or Peacocke — we’re always nearby and ready to help.
Hamilton is the Waikato region’s major urban centre, a rapidly growing city with a very mixed housing stock. The older established suburbs — Hillcrest, Claudelands, Frankton, Melville and Hamilton East — commonly have aging galvanised pipes, earthenware drains and hot water cylinders that are well past their serviceable life. Galvanised pipes in particular cause progressive water pressure loss and discoloured water as they corrode from the inside out. Replacing these with copper or CPVC is one of the most common jobs we carry out across inner Hamilton.
On the other side of the city, newer outer suburbs like Rototuna, Flagstaff, Silverdale and Te Rapa are seeing constant new subdivision activity. We handle new build plumbing rough-ins and fit-outs across these areas, as well as IQP backflow prevention inspections — which are required annually under Hamilton City Council rules for properties with registered backflow prevention devices.

Being Hamilton-based is a genuine advantage. Our team lives and works here, which means we know the local building stock intimately — from the post-war bungalows of Nawton and Dinsdale through to the modern plumbing systems going into Peacocke’s new subdivisions. When something goes wrong, we can often be on-site faster than any out-of-town operator could manage.
We also know Hamilton City Council’s compliance requirements inside out. This matters especially for IQP backflow prevention — Hamilton City Council requires annual inspections of registered backflow prevention devices by an Independent Qualified Person, and Plumbway holds the required IQP registration. It also matters for building consent requirements on certain plumbing works such as hot water cylinder relocations and new drain connections.
Hillcrest, Claudelands, Frankton and Melville have many homes with original galvanised steel pipes. These corrode internally over time, causing low pressure and discoloured water. We assess, quote and replace these efficiently — and can handle associated drainage upgrades at the same time.
Rototuna, Flagstaff, Silverdale and the growing Peacocke development in southern Hamilton are all active areas for new build plumbing packages. We work with builders and homeowners on complete plumbing installations from foundation stage through to final fit-off.
Hamilton City Council mandates annual IQP inspections for registered backflow prevention devices — a requirement that catches many property owners off guard. Plumbway is IQP registered, meaning we can carry out the required testing and submit compliance reports directly to Council.
Burst pipes, overflowing drains and gas leaks are a regular part of our Hamilton workload given the city’s scale and housing age. We offer 24/7 emergency call-outs and, as a Hamilton-based team, can typically reach any suburb faster than a competitor travelling in from out of town.
We’re Hamilton-based and cover the whole city, from the urban core to the outer suburbs. Call us any time for fast, friendly service.
